My New Galleries

Gallery on ScreenDisplaying photography is the primary visual aspect of my Web site. I’ve tried many different methods and technologies over the years, yet I’ve never been satisfied with the results. They’ve been tedious, cumbersome and slow.

For the visitor, viewing my photos should be a pleasant experience that can be customized to their liking, not one hampered by constant clicking, waiting for pages to load, etc. One that automatically adapts to different screen sizes … and even has a full-screen option.

For me, the gallery should permit simplified changes and updates of images as needed, without turning it into a big project … one that tends to be put off. The Web changes faster than any other software on the planet … keeping up, or at least hanging on to the tail, proves to be a huge challenge.

But, I recently felt as if I jumped into a system that is far closer to the ideal gallery than I could have recently imaged. As it’s been up less than a week, it still has many more untapped features. But I believe it’s in a far better place now than it’s ever been.

Please check out the gallery when you have a few minutes to spare. It’s automatic, it’s manual, it’s just about anything you would like.

Simply point your browser to my Web Site’s Gallery. I’d certainly appreciate any feedback.

The Gallery seems to work OK with Internet Explorer 6, better with IE 7, and better still with IE 8. Safari 3.1 on both Windows and Mac does very well, as does Firefox 2. If my Windows friends have not yet downloaded Firefox or Safari, I highly recommend it.

Now, sit back and enjoy …

Checked out the Gallery today, it is very beautiful. I was kind of annoyed– don’t know if it was IE 7 or something else– a camera “click” sound every couple of pictures interrupted the awesome music. I loved the music, loved the pictures. But the pics of women reveal your age! :)

It’s probably IE7. Please try it with Firefox or Safari, since it works correctly with both of them on the Mac (even with Opera). And since I primarily use the superior multi-processor computing platform called Macintosh, I don’t have access to IE7 (IE6 and below is pure crap, though still used by most).

And, thank you for the kind words. So, you can tell I’m just 26 … bummer.
