1995 The first two Web sites that I designed and developed solo were FarmersMarket.com and Matre.com (the one you’re currently visiting). The other sites shown above are just a sampling and do not represent all the Web sites I’ve produced.
For the HealthSouth site (2000) — I was selected as team Director of Content & Creative, and was on the project full time, for 16 straight weeks. At the time, I was employed as a staff director and senior consultant for a high-tech Web firm based in California.
The HealthSouth Web team was large, and consisted of pros from all over the US, including Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, California, and New York.
One afternoon, HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy, paid us an unannounced visit. A few years later, I watched as he was indicted by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, on 85 counts of accounting fraud, totalling $1.4 billion. I believe he was aquitted the first time, and I don’t know what happened after that. All I know is that he sure had a very cool and lightning-fast helicoptor. The heliport was on the roof of the building the Web team worked in, and we usually met on the top floor.
